(AllHipHop News) Oakland rap pioneer Too $hort is taking his independent hustle to the Internet with the release of his new album, Still Blowin.
Still Blowin, which is Too $hort’s first digital-only release as an independent artist, will be released on his Dangerous Music record label.
Fans will be treated to guest appearances by Earl Hayes, Baby of Cash Money, Silk E, SNL of young money and the Too $hort’s group, Town Bizness.
“My thing is I just like to work in the studio & make a ton of new music,” Too $hort told AllHipHop.com. “I work with several different producers & artists and whenever it’s time for me to release another album, I always have plenty of material on hand to choose from…It’s always been that way with me.”
Still Blowin also features productions from Lil Jon, Jazze Pha and Too $hort himself, who contributed six tracks to his new album.
After 25 years in the game and a long tenure on Jive Records, Too $hort is excited about the new opportunities digital distribution provides independent artists.
Still Blowin’ will be distributed digitally via Urban Music Alliance (UMA). The move gives Too $hort unprecedented creative and business control of his future.
“I’m doing a digital only release because at this point in my career, I have to be able to make my music available to the masses without depending on a major label,” Too $hort told AllHipHop.com. “The majors will not push your product if you don’t have the hottest single on the radio & huge 1st week sales.”
Too $hort’s Still Blowin’ will be available worldwide on April 6.

The musical road of B.I.G. (short version)…
Straight out of the Bay Area, San Francisco to be specific, are rappers Roach Gigz and Lil 4-Tay, who together form the group Bitch I Go (B.I.G.). The duo stepped on to the Northern California music scene in 2006 with their street smash “I Get It”. The single was the first song they ever recorded together and ended up getting spins on the two biggest hip-hop radio stations in the Bay Area, 106 KMEL and WILD 949. Roach and 4 continued to record song after song with no backing or musical outlet, and without any kind of formal release. Although it seemed as though every young person from San Francisco to Stockton already had most of their songs playing from iPods, car stereos, and phone ring tones, a collection of the groups recordings was eventually put together on the 2008 internet only, free download of their Mistah Fab hosted mixtape “B!tch I Go Vol.1”.
This leads too…
Their latest release, “From Another”. The EP drops on 2/23/2010 at midnight, exclusively online, and again free for fans to download. “From Another” is their first formal CD, and consists of music mostly recorded in 2007 and early 2008, but held out from public ears for an official album that never came. The link and track list are below. Enjoy.
1) M.A.N.G.O.
2) I’m Up (The Drug Song)
3) Smack Ft. D-Lo (Mr. No Hoe)
4) Freezin’
