I’m here to answer one of the frequently asked questions and enlighten many of you to a feature you may not have known about! For those of you sharing your feedback, and expressing your opinions on our posts, you may have wondered how you can get an image/avatar next to your name/comment.
Question: What’s an Avatar?
Answer: An avatar is an image that is used next to your comments, and on your user profile. This can be a unique image of your favorite rapper, or whatever you choose to make it!
Question: How do I set my Avatar?
Answer: Easy! When you post a comment, you currently have a default Avatar, which is a grey default silhouette of a persons head. It looks like this:
To change the default avatar, follow the following steps:
Step 1: Simply click the avatar next to your name. Or you can click this link: http://en.gravatar.com/site/signup/. From there, simply enter your email. *IMPORTANT*: You must use the same email address that you used when you registered with TheBayMusic.CoM, and this also must be a valid email address so they can send you a confirmation link that the email address really belongs to you… You wont be able to upload an image to be used as your avatar until you have confirmed your email address with gravatar!

After pressing submit on the Signup form, you will be sent a confirmation email, and see a screen like this:

Check your email, click the link sent by gravatar in your email. Next you will be able to either:
a. Upload an image from your computer
b. Put in the link of an image on the internet.
Step 4: After selecting an image to be used as an avatar with gravatar and thebaymusic.com You will be given the opportunity to crop the image to chose what part of it you want to be used as your actual avatar.
Step 5: Confirm, save, and wait a few hours. The next time you comment on thebaymusic.com and all your old comments will now show your avatar.
