TREY-C AND MATT BLAQUE SHOWBOAT INTO 2008
(San Francisco, CA) – Independent hip-hop artist Trey-C and Bay Area R&B sensation Matt Blaque have teamed up to release the sure to be summer hit “Showboatin”. “Showboatin” is the latest hit from Trey-C and the first single from the upcoming project, The Ben Frank EP, which is currently slated for a summer release.
“We’ve had the showboatin’ concept for a while, but had a hard time finding the right singer for the hook,” said Trey-C. “After hearing a few tracks from Matt, there was no doubt in my mind that we had found a perfect match.” “Showboatin” came easy for Matt Blaque, who needed only 20 minutes to write and record the song’s chorus. “Sometimes when you have the right music with the right artists, everything just clicks,” said Trey-C. “And this was one of those moments.”
Matt Blaque has become the go-to singer for many of the Bay Area’s successful artists. He is currently on two songs in heavy rotation on 106.1 KMEL, the Bay Area’s #1 Hip-Hop station.
Trey-C first gained recognition from the 2006 release, Indie 500 Mixtape Vol. 1 which featured exclusive production from Nickel N’ Dime Productions and a guest appearance from Houston recording artist Lil’ Flip. Trey-C has continued to ride the wave of success with his latest mixtape Finna B Famous that was released in late 2007. Finna B Famous included the regional hit “Do Da Damn Thang” featuring San Francisco recording artist San Quinn.
